Survey Junkie is the panel we point people to first, for one reason: it is honest about the numbers before you start. Each queued survey shows its point value and its estimated length, and in our testing the estimate was accurate within three minutes about 80% of the time.
Across 45 tracked attempts, 14 screened out, and the 31 completions averaged 121 points for 17 minutes — about $4.20 an hour. Add the screen-out consolation points and the figure moves to roughly $4.50.

The points system
100 points is $1, and 500 points ($5) is the cash-out floor. That floor is low enough to reach in two or three evenings of casual use, which matters more than most people expect — an unreachable threshold is the single most common reason people abandon a panel.
Point values scale roughly linearly with survey length, at about 7 – 9 points per minute of expected effort. Anything advertising far above that ratio is normally a screener-heavy study.
Screen-outs and how they are handled
Survey Junkie is one of the few panels that pays for a failed qualifier as a matter of policy, typically 2 – 5 points. It is not real money, but it accumulates and it removes the sting of a wasted five minutes.
The exception is the 'over quota' exit, where the study fills while you are answering. That pays nothing and is the most irritating part of the platform. It happened three times in our 45 attempts.
Cash-out and verification
You must verify your identity once before the first redemption. After that, PayPal transfers usually land inside 24 hours and often within an hour.
Gift cards are same-day. Direct bank transfer is available in the US and takes two to five business days, which makes PayPal the better default.
Where it falls short
There is no offer wall, no cashback and no games. When your demographic runs out of studies for the day, the dashboard is simply empty. Heavy earners run Survey Junkie alongside a second panel for that reason.
Invite volume is demographic-dependent. Women aged 25 – 54 in the US see the most; men under 30 see the least. If you are in the low-volume group, expect three to six qualifying studies per week, not per day.
Our verdict
Survey Junkie is the best pure-survey panel in the US, Canada and Australia. It pays above the category average per minute, it pays for most screen-outs, and it cashes out fast at a low threshold.
Its only real weakness is depth of inventory. Pair it with a second panel so you are never staring at an empty queue, and treat it as your primary.
